Couple of the month: Emilie & Morgan

In this article cycle, we will post interviews with some of our wedding couples to help you better understand the preparation process as well as what to expect from the dance on the big day. You can see the dance video at the end of the article!

Dance style: Rumba
Amount of Lessons:  10 H
Song:  Drive me, Crazy – Orville Peck

1. How did you pick a song for your first dance?

We wanted something romantic but not overly cliche. We like taking roadtrips together and a song about truckers in love felt appropriate.

2. What was the most important requirement for your wedding dance?

To have a good time and feel comfortable doing our dance. We wanted to mix in our sense of humor into the dance as well.

3. How many months in advance did you start? Did you have a dance experience before?

We started around 3 months in advance and had zero dance experience prior to our lessons.

4. What was the biggest challenge for you preparing the dance and how did you overcome it?

We both have no rhythm and overcame it by practice, practice, practice. We recommend filming any practicing you may do at home so you can compare your dance moves to the classes you took the week before.

5. Did you feel comfortable on the dance floor on the day of the wedding?

Extremely. We stumbled a few moves but that didn’t matter because we were having such a good time and enjoying the choreography and the day itself.

6. Tell our future couples what to expect from the wedding dance on the day of!

The crowd will love every second of what you’re doing so expect lots of cheering and shouting.

7. How did you feel after the performance on the day of?

We were shocked to have pulled it off. Absolutely thrilled.

8. What advice can you give to the couples?

Have fun! Smile and make eye contact with your spouse. People aren’t looking at your feet, they’re looking at your faces.

9. Are you going to dance after the wedding? 🙂

Yes!
