30 Sep Start early, dance confidently: tips for perfecting your wedding routine
Plan Your Wedding Dance Routine at Least a Month in Advance
We recommend having the dance moves/routine ready at least a month before the big day. Based on our experience, the schedule of couples gets very busy closer to the day of the wedding, and a lot of other things get in the way of learning. It is much easier if you already have the dance and just need to practice it in the last month or so. It doesn’t mean you need to finish the lessons a month before; you can practice the moves during the lessons, but the learning of new things should be finalized by then.
Consider Extra Lessons for a Perfect Performance
Many couples actually often decide to take a few extra lessons, either because they didn’t learn as much as they thought, want to practice more, or decided to go with a longer routine, for example. That doesn’t mean it would be your case, but it’s worth mentioning because we often hear “I wish we started earlier to learn more” 😀
Book Early to Secure Your Preferred Time Slot
Summer and fall are highest seasons for lessons, and often popular time slots get pre-booked a few weeks in advance, so the earlier you start, the more flexibility you have with scheduling.
Schedule Your First Lessons Close Together for Maximum Progress
We do recommend having the first 2-3 lessons close to each other for better learning results, so we recommend starting when you can do the first lessons every week.
Start with Group Classes, Add Private Lessons Later
You can always start with some group classes earlier on to learn how to dance together and start building muscle memory, and add private lessons closer to the wedding to add more things.
Starting early is like planting the seeds for a dance that reflects your journey and leaves everyone in awe! But remember, the key is to enjoy the process and have fun together!
