general questions

  1. What is an intro lesson?

Intro lesson is a 45 min long appointment for people willing to commit for a bigger package but not sure which one. That way you can meet the teacher in person and discuss your goals.  The teacher can see how fast you are learning and recommend the best package tailored for you. One time only for new students.

  1. I’m an absolute beginner can I take lessons?

This is what we are here for 🙂

  1. Can I add more lessons to a package?

You can add additional lessons or packages anytime you want. Nonetheless, it is very helpful for us to know the tentative amount of lessons you are planning to purchase in order to decide what kind of steps/dances we have time to learn.

  1. How many people can attend a private lesson?

A private lesson is up to 2 people. Some exceptions may apply.

  1. Do you do group classes?

We at Brooklyn Dance Lessons believe that private lessons are the best and fastest way to learn. However, we do organize monthly semi-private (up to 8-10 people) lessons or cycles of lessons for everyone. You can find the info regarding upcoming lessons or cycles on our event page.

  1. Do you train professional dancers?

Yes, we do!

  1. Can you teach at home or private location?

Yes, we can travel to your private location or studio within 4mi from our Boutique. This option has some restrictions and different fees compared to the regular lesson packages. Please contact us if you need more details.

  1. What is the shoe policy in your studio?

We recommend bringing clean or a more comfy pair of shoes with you for the lesson. You can also be barefoot or in the socks if you prefer.

  1. Do I need dancing shoes?

Dance shoes are not required. However, we recommend considering dance shoes if you are going to take more than 3-4 lessons. We do sell dance shoes both for professional, amatorial, and “just for fun” level. Please let us know if you are interested.

lesson expiration, refund, cancellation, and payment

  1. Do lessons expire?

Please be aware that each Brooklyn Dance Lessons package has a usage period (“Usage Period”). After that period the package is to be considered expired. Check our expiration policy here.

  1. Can I ask for a refund?

Customers can request a full refund of their purchased packages within 7 calendar days from the day of the payment (“Refund Period”). In the event that a purchased package is partially used before the end of the Refund Period, the whole purchase becomes automatically not refundable. Check our refund policy here.

  1. I’m sick, can I cancel the lessons tomorrow?

As much as we understand that it is not always possible to cancel in advance, the cancellation or rescheduling of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time.

Lessons that are less than 48 hours away are non-refundable.

  1. Do you have a payment plan?

For people interested in a bigger package from 20 lessons and on we can create a payment plan. Please contact us if you are interested.

  1. What’s PayPal credit?

PayPal offers you to sign up for a 6 month 0% payment plan if your credit score allows it. This is a PayPal service entirely managed by PayPal (you can see more info here), but you are able to select it on the checkout.

  1. I don’t have PayPal can I pay with credit card?

Yes, you don’t need a PayPal account to pay. When you do your checkout, click on the yellow PayPal button and select “pay with debit or credit card”.
