1. How did you pick a song for your first dance?

Given Jafar’s name this was always an obvious choice for us. We both found it amusing and it’s a stunning remark of a classic song.

2. What was the most important requirement for your wedding dance?

To be entertaining and magical ! We wanted our guests to be wowed that we could do something like this and not feel awkward during the first dance.

3. How many months in advance did you start? Did you have a dance experience before?

We had a 10 session package that we started about 4 months before the wedding. Neither of us have ballroom dance experience but I danced various other styles as a kid.

4. What was the biggest challenge for you preparing the dance and how did you overcome it?

Letting Jafar lead! It took a lot of practice but we got there in the end and he did a magnificent job.

5. Did you feel comfortable on the dance floor on the day of the wedding?

Definitely! Jafar was nervous about my dress, we had some complicated moves and it had a large train, but we knew the dance well and I had faith that we would get through it.

6. Tell our future couples what to expect from the wedding dance on the day of!

No matter what happens, only you know if something has gone wrong and your guests are going to love the moment so you should enjoy it too.

7. How did you feel after the performance on the day of?

It was over too quickly and I think we were both a bit sad to not be able to do it again. We were happy that our guests were so impressed.

8. What advice can you give to the couples?

Classes are for learning the dance, all the real work happens at home – the more you practice the more you will get out of the lessons.

9. Are you going to dance after the wedding?

I’d love to… not sure if I can convince Jafar to do so.
