13 Sep Elements of a good dance partner
Being a good partner is important! Like in our life we all want to find the special one, in dance we also want to have the best dance partner. And this is not because you need to show off, but because you need to feel comfortable and you want to enjoy dancing fully. If you are not a good partner, you might end up dancing alone
So what are the elements that make a good dance partner?

1. THINK ABOUT THE PARTNER
Rule number one: think about the other person first! You are dancing together, not alone.
2. SMILE
Encourage your partner with a nice smile and positive words! If you just met, for example, it will be a good ice breaker. If you have been dancing for a long time, it will help to keep a relaxed mood hehe
3. PRESENT THE PARTNER AT THEIR BEST
If you are a leader, don’t think about which moves look good on you and what do you like, think which ones will make your partner comfortable and present him/her at their best. Feel the partner and add more steps as you go.
4. FOLLOW
If you are a follower, please be one. Don’t try to predict what the leader will do and don’t rush into your own plan. Relax, have fun, and most importantly learn how to follow!
5. COMMUNICATE
If something feels uncomfortable, ask your partners first how do they feel. Often, we blame each other for some mistakes that most of the time are made by both people. (The frame, for example. You think your partner doesn’t push enough but instead is your partner that might not feel enough support).
